Former U.S. Attorney General, who was fired by Trump, questioned in the Epstein case — BBC

Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi was questioned in Washington in connection with the case of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

This was officially reported by the BBC, citing its own sources.

The testimony took place behind closed doors, but transcripts of the conversation or a video recording of the meeting may be released at a later date.

In her opening remarks, Bondi emphasized that she is proud of the release of documents related to Epstein, despite widespread criticism directed at her.

She highlighted the scale of the work done and the significant volume of archival materials released.

“We have demonstrated an unprecedented commitment to searching for, collecting, and reviewing the ‘Epstein files’ at the U.S. Department of Justice, releasing nearly 3 million pages of materials, including thousands of videos and hundreds of thousands of images,” the former official stated.

U.S. House Committee Chairman James Comer announced that Congress is currently conducting a detailed review of the possible mishandling of the Epstein case.

In particular, lawmakers are verifying compliance with the Freedom of Information Act regarding the “Epstein files,” which required the Department of Justice to make the documents available to the public.

“We will try to determine whether more documents can be legally released. I want to get every document. I don’t want anything to be hidden, and I think the majority of the committee shares that view,” Comer noted.
