Queen Margrethe of Denmark was discharged from the hospital after being admitted
Queen Margrethe of Denmark has returned to Fredensborg Palace after a stay at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, where she had been since September 6, primarily due to a blood clot in her thigh.
“Queen Margrethe is feeling well and will continue to take care of herself,” according to a press release from the Royal House of Denmark. Due to her hospitalization, the 86-year-old queen was unable to attend the funeral of King Harald V of Norway in Oslo. She reigned over Denmark from 1972 until January 2024, after which she abdicated and passed the throne to her son, Frederick.

On September 6, the 86-year-old former Queen Margrethe of Denmark was admitted to Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. She was diagnosed with a blood clot in her hip joint and mild dehydration.
