Kushner calls Israel’s strike in Qatar a failed military operation

Jared Kushner, special adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, called the Israeli strike in Doha, Qatar, a failed military operation that led to Israel’s international isolation during a video address at a conference in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Jerusalem Post reports.

Assessment of the strike in Doha

Kushner said that Israel’s strike in Doha was a “terrible” event and did not succeed as a military operation. According to the publication, this refers to a strike on Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital on September 9, 2025.

According to Kushner, the Trump administration used the international consequences of the operation to increase pressure on Israel and persuade it to agree to a deal on Gaza. He claimed that the Israeli side initially felt uncomfortable with Washington’s proposals, but is now satisfied with the agreement reached.

Governance of Gaza

Kushner also said that the agreement had proved positive for Israel and Gaza’s residents, as, according to him, a new authority is operating there. He added that the new governing structure is expected to take over administration soon after progress in the demilitarization process.

The special adviser stressed that the diplomatic opportunity after the strike was used thanks to prior preparatory work. Without that preparation, he said, the crisis itself would not have led to an agreement.
