Iran's QIR Outlined the Conditions for Reopening the Strait of Hormuz
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that the country will open the Strait of Hormuz to shipping once the United States agrees to the conditions set forth by Tehran. This was reported by Deutsche Welle.
IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohoggi, as reported by the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency, stated that the resumption of traffic through the strategic waterway depends on specific mechanisms and conditions set by the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to him, this issue is not related to the negotiations between Iran and Oman.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that negotiations with Oman are nearing their final stage, but progress in them does not mean the imminent opening of the strait. He also said that Tehran is demanding compensation for what it claims is a violation by the United States of the memorandum of understanding signed in June.
On Friday, a U.S. official stated that progress in the negotiations between Iran and Oman could facilitate the reopening of the strait. According to DW, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been significantly restricted for several months due to mutual blockades by Iran and the U.S. Before the war began, about 20% of the world’s oil and gas supplies passed through the strait. The UAE also stated that Iran targeted one of its tankers as it attempted to pass through the strait.
