A Norwegian Airlines passenger plane en route to Dubrovnik, Croatia, on July 27 was forced to change course and make an emergency landing in Vienna. The cause was a crack in the aircraft’s windshield. The landing was safe, and there are no reports of injuries.
The incident occurred on the morning of July 27. According to Norwegian Airlines spokesperson Eline Huggén Skari, the damage occurred in the windshield of the cockpit.
“This aircraft developed a crack in the windshield of the cockpit. The pilots decided to land to inspect it,” she said.
Due to the situation, the crew requested priority landing at the nearest airport. The plane landed safely in Vienna, where it is to be inspected by technical specialists.
So far, the airline has not reported any injuries or provided further details about the incident, according to NRK.
Earlier, a runway at Warsaw Airport was taken out of service due to the heat.
