Macron and von der Leyen Discussed Support for Ukraine
French President Emmanuel Macron and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen discussed key issues regarding the future of the European Union during a meeting in Paris. Topics of discussion included strengthening the EU’s economic competitiveness, developing European defense, and continuing support for Ukraine.
According to the President of the European Commission, during the meeting they discussed specific ways to ensure European competitiveness and independence.
She emphasized that the EU’s own energy resources and innovation will be the driving forces behind growth.
They also discussed support for Ukraine, as well as the issue of protecting children online.

Earlier, President Macron announced the completion of France’s military modernization.
As a reminder, Ukrainian military personnel will take part in the military parade marking Bastille Day, which will take place on July 14 in Paris. They will be joined in the ceremonial procession by military personnel from member states of the “Coalition of the Resolute,” including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
