Polish defense minister announces Patriot deployment near Lublin — RMF24
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, during a visit to Świdnik, announced a decision to deploy one of Poland’s Patriot system batteries in the Lublin area. He also stated his intention to strengthen the presence of the Polish Armed Forces in the Lublin Voivodeship.
As RMF24 reports, the minister named the Lublin Voivodeship and Podkarpacie as the two regions that face government security center alerts and threats most frequently. According to him, this requires cooperation between local authorities, the military and society to ensure the security of these territories.
New units and command
Among the planned decisions, Kosiniak-Kamysz named the deployment of the command of a new brigade near Opole Lubelskie and Poniatowa. A military unit is to be established in Biłgoraj, where plans include stationing a battalion of the 18th Motorized Brigade and air defense units.
