The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to MEP Shoshoake's visit to Russia
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sharply criticized the appearance of Romanian far-right MEP Diana Shoshoake at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which was attended by the Russian president. The ministry stated that European citizens who attended this event completely discredit themselves with such actions.
A ministry spokesperson emphasized that the values of the European Union and its member states are completely incompatible with the policies of modern Russia. By highlighting the presence of a few unfortunate exceptions among half a billion Europeans, the Russian authorities attempted to create the illusion of a lack of international isolation.
However, according to the representative of the diplomatic department, the aggressor’s isolation cannot be concealed by guests who lack the authority to speak on behalf of their country, and the forum itself has become yet another example of false propaganda.
During her speech in St. Petersburg, Shoshoake assured Vladimir Putin that Romanians do not hate him, admire Russia as the greatest country in the world, seek peace with it, and do not want to help Ukraine, and she also added that Romania has no president. In addition, the controversial politician posted joint photos on social media with Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, fugitive Moldovan oligarch Ilan Shor, and his associate Marina Tauber, who had previously received court sentences in Moldova.
