Cyprus to discuss plasmapheresis regulation in October — Cyprus Mail
Cyprus’ House of Representatives Health Committee will begin discussing the regulatory framework for plasmapheresis in October. Consideration of the issue was initiated after a public debate that lasted throughout the previous week.
Inspections of facilities and specialists
The committee chair, DISY MP Savia Orfanidou, said that the matter was added to the agenda at the committee’s own initiative. According to her, attention will be focused on the regulatory framework governing this medical practice.

As Cyprus Mail reports, participants will consider inspections to be conducted at medical centres and hospitals licensed to perform plasmapheresis. They will also discuss the licensing of medical professionals carrying out the relevant procedures and the medical equipment used for them.
Mapping specialised centres
Discussions are expected to begin in October and contribute to mapping centres where the relevant procedures are performed. Cyprus’ Ministry of Health began such mapping on Thursday.
