Emergency services are responding to reports of a possible shark attack at Sorrento Beach in Perth’s northern suburbs, Australia. ABC News reports.
Three crews dispatched to the scene
St John WA Ambulance received a report of a possible attack at 10:15 a.m. local time. The service confirmed that three crews, including one operating in priority mode, were sent to the beach.
Western Australia Police said water police were also arriving at the scene. Officers responded to a report of a swimmer in danger.

Witness saw a shark
Earlier, a member of the public reported seeing a shark approximately 2.5 metres long near the beach. Information about a possible attack remained preliminary at the time of publication.
The report came a week after the start of seasonal shark helicopter patrols conducted by Surf Lifesaving WA during the summer season.
