Lithuania has prepared an evacuation plan for Vilnius in the event of war
Lithuania has developed a plan to evacuate Vilnius residents in the event of a military threat or a large-scale crisis. One of the three main evacuation routes out of the capital will be toward the border with Poland.
Authorities in the Podlaskie Voivodeship are already preparing the region for its potential role as a transit corridor for residents of the Baltic states.
According to the plan, the order of evacuation will depend on the location and scale of the threat. Routes through Poland are planned toward northern and western Lithuania.
Žygimantas Solovjovas, a representative of the Civil Defense Department of the Vilnius City Municipality, said that the authorities presented the updated evacuation plan a year ago.
“One of the evacuation routes from the capital is to be Poland,” he said.
At the same time, the evacuation must begin before an immediate threat arises. Residents of Vilnius are advised not to count on being able to leave the city while shelling is underway.
“Vilnius residents should not count on being able to leave the city via one of the evacuation routes during shelling,” Solovyovas emphasized.
In the event of an immediate attack, people should take shelter in bomb shelters.
According to a city administration representative, one of the plan’s goals is to prepare residents for the fact that evacuation must be an organized and controlled process.
Poland’s Podlaskie Voivodeship has been included in the Baltic states’ regional evacuation planning system. Local authorities are participating in the preparation of emergency response plans.
Polskie Radio notes that the decision is linked to the war near Poland’s eastern border and the risk of further escalation.

In Zaporizhzhia, the number of people injured as a result of a Russian FPV drone attack on a passenger bus has risen. Currently, eight people are known to have been injured—four men and four women. All of them are receiving the necessary medical care.
The enemy attacked a passenger bus in the Kosmichny district of Zaporizhzhia with an FPV drone. At the time of the attack, the bus was carrying passengers who were on their way to run errands.
