Libya’s oil corporation reports drone attack on fuel depot in Tripoli
In Libya’s capital, Tripoli, a remotely controlled drone attacked a fuel depot, causing minor damage, the state-owned National Oil Corporation of Libya reported. Asharq Al-Awsat reports.
Tanks and pipelines damaged
Ahmed al-Masallati, a spokesperson for Brega Petroleum Marketing, said that debris damaged several pipelines and tanks No. 213 and No. 220. Brega Petroleum Marketing is responsible for fuel supplies in Libya.
According to the National Oil Corporation, no one was injured in the incident, and fuel supplies were not affected.

Fuel is being pumped out as a precaution
Technical teams began pumping fuel out of the tanks to lower its level as a precautionary measure. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, and authorities have not named possible perpetrators.
The National Oil Corporation said that attempts to attack oil facilities pose a direct threat to the supply system. In August, fuel storage tanks at the Zawiya oil complex west of Tripoli were targeted in several strikes by drones carrying explosives: one of the tanks burned out completely.
Libya’s oil facilities have repeatedly been attacked and halted operations for political and technical reasons since the 2011 uprising that toppled Muammar Gaddafi.
