Qatar's largest LNG plant will resume operations after the Strait of Hormuz reopens — Bloomberg
Qatar plans to gradually resume liquefied natural gas production at its largest LNG complex once safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is restored.
According to Bloomberg, QatarEnergy has informed buyers that it expects to reach about 50% of production capacity within a month of the strait reopening, and up to 80% within two months.
At the same time, the full restoration of the remaining capacity, equivalent to two production lines, could take years due to damage caused by Iranian missile strikes in March.
Qatar shut down the world’s largest gas liquefaction plant in the first week of the war following Iran’s attack. This led to the cancellation of some shipments and dealt a blow to the country’s reputation as one of the most reliable LNG suppliers.
