In Enugu, Nigeria, representatives of the Nigerian Guild of Editors visited infrastructure projects of the administration of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah and gave a positive assessment of what they saw. As Premium Times Nigeria reports, the visit took place during the 2026 All Nigeria Editors Conference, attended by more than 300 editors, media executives and industry veterans.
Review of state projects
President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors Eze Anaba said that the Enugu State administration had created an infrastructure foundation for economic development. According to him, during a previous visit, editors inspected “smart” schools, a technical and vocational college, roads, transport terminals, revived enterprises and centralized water supply facilities.
During the current trip, the delegation, according to Anaba, saw the restored and operating Presidential Hotel, one of the nearly completed large “smart” secondary schools, the tourist complex at Ngwo-Pines with a zipline, as well as an integrated livestock hub under construction. Secretary to the State Government Chidiebere Onyia said that the facility would be able to accommodate up to 40,000 head of cattle.

Former Ogun State governor and media veteran Segun Osoba called on other states to follow Enugu’s example in creating high-tech surveillance systems.
Osoba also said that the state’s security forces were promptly deployed to track down and arrest kidnappers following an incident in Affa, Udi Local Government Area. According to him, two hostages were returned unharmed.
Peter Mbah thanked the participants in the visit and said that projects in security, transport, investment and tourism were interconnected. According to him, they should help fulfill the campaign promise of increasing the state’s economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion and make Enugu more attractive for investment, business, tourism and residence.
