Nobel laureate Mohammadi has been discharged from a hospital in Tehran

Narges Mohammadi, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate, was discharged from a hospital in Tehran after 18 days of treatment and transferred to outpatient care. Doctors emphasize that her condition requires constant monitoring and long-term therapy. Her family warns that a return to prison could be critical for her. This is reported on the Narges Mohammadi Foundation website.

Iranian human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi was transferred to outpatient care after nearly three weeks in the hospital, but doctors and her family insist that her condition remains serious and requires constant monitoring.

On Sunday, she was discharged from the coronary care unit at Pars Hospital in Tehran after 18 days of hospitalization, following which she was referred for outpatient care, which involves regular visits to the hospital and daily physical therapy. The medical team reports that it will closely monitor the human rights defender’s condition in the coming weeks, as she requires additional tests and long-term therapy to prevent complications.

The foundation emphasizes that Mohammadi’s body is severely weakened after years of imprisonment, and any additional stress could drastically worsen her condition, so returning her to prison is unacceptable. “Returning her to prison is a death sentence. We must ensure that she remains free, that all baseless charges against her are finally dropped, and that the persecution ends,” stated the foundation’s co-president and the human rights defender’s daughter, Kiana Rahmani.

Doctors separately emphasize that Mohammadi’s condition is directly linked to prolonged psychological pressure and chronic stress, and warn that even minor stress or new stressors could significantly complicate her recovery process.

Iranian human rights activist and 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi, who is currently in prison, requires urgent surgery due to serious heart problems.

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi has gone on a hunger strike to protest her unlawful detention in Iran, where she is being held under brutal conditions.

As a reminder, Iran has officially designated EU armed forces as “terrorist groups.”

Iran also has no plans to export highly enriched uranium abroad.
