New film reveals details of Mossad’s Hezbollah pager operation — Jerusalem Post

In Israel, after censorship restrictions were lifted, the new film Paging Hezbollah disclosed additional details of the 2024 Mossad operation involving explosive pagers that reached members of Hezbollah. According to the film, about 3,500 operatives of the group were killed or wounded as a result of the operation.

Infiltration of the supply chain

According to the Jerusalem Post, the film describes Israeli intelligence infiltrating Hezbollah’s communications network through the development of devices and infiltration of the supply chain. The film shows how the pagers were designed, marketed and delivered to the group, convincing its members that the devices were safe and reliable.

According to the film, the operation was prepared over several years. The film is scheduled for release on October 30. Its interviewees include Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Mossad chief David Barnea and Northern Command chief Major General Ori Gordin.

Suspicions and pager checks

One episode of the film is the claim that Israel eliminated a Hezbollah operative who suspected that the pagers could be monitored and began checking them. According to the film, he was killed along with another person whom Israel called the primary target of the attack, while the actual target of the operation was presented as a collateral victim.

The film also reports that Iran delivered a special X-ray device to check the pagers for explosives. According to this version, Israel struck the device, creating the impression that something else was the target.

Former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant previously told N12 that suspicions regarding the pagers became known in early August. According to him, information later arrived about the delivery of devices to inspect them. Netanyahu also stated in April 2025 that Hezbollah had sent three pagers to Iran for scanning, and that Israel had previously destroyed a similar scanner and the person operating it.
