Likely coalition
Voter turnout was 51.8%. According to the LETA agency, this is the lowest participation rate in parliamentary elections in the country since the 1990s. Interia also notes that the United List’s result was the best for a single political force since 1993.
Commentators on Latvian television channel LTV consider the formation of a governing coalition involving the United List, the National Alliance and New Unity likely. In that case, Andris Kulbergs will try to form a new government.
