Airstrikes in Lebanon Leave Dead and Injured
Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon have killed two people, including a medic. The strike hit a vehicle in the city of Sidon. The number of casualties also rose following an attack on a residential building in Baalbek, where four people were killed and seven others wounded, Al Jazeera reports.
In southern Lebanon, two people were killed in an Israeli airstrike, one of them a medic, according to the country’s Ministry of Health. The National News Agency reported that the strike occurred in Sidon, targeting a car near the coast. Another person was injured. “Among the deceased is a paramedic,” the Ministry confirmed.
This was not the only incident that day. On the same Tuesday, Israeli strikes were recorded in the city of Baalbek. A missile hit a residential building in the Ras al-Ain neighborhood. Initial reports cited fewer casualties, but later updates confirmed four fatalities and seven injuries. “The number of victims increased after the rubble was cleared,” local services reported.
The situation in the region remains tense. Such strikes occur regularly amid escalating tensions between Israel and groups operating in Lebanon. Airstrikes target not only military sites but also civilian areas, causing casualties among ordinary residents and medical personnel.
