Before the start of the NATO summit, Macron went for a run through the streets of Ankara
On July 8, ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara, French President Emmanuel Macron went for his traditional morning jog through the streets of the Turkish capital. The French leader was accompanied by security guards and members of his delegation.
Macron was spotted jogging near Segmenler Park and the Çankaya district, where the former presidential residence is located. Along the way, he greeted journalists and passersby.
After his morning workout, the French president was scheduled to join other world leaders at official NATO summit events, including a group photo and a plenary session.
The day before, Turkish media reported that certain streets in Ankara might be closed off for Macron’s run. However, Turkish authorities denied this information, noting that no special traffic restrictions had been imposed for the French president.
It should be noted that Emmanuel Macron is known for almost never skipping his morning jogs during foreign visits. He has previously been seen jogging during trips to China, India, and Egypt.
