Pierre Hermé Paris opens its first flagship café in South Korea in Seoul
French pastry brand Pierre Hermé Paris has opened its first café in South Korea in a flagship format at the 63 Building in Seoul’s Yeouido district. The establishment began operating earlier this month, Korea Herald reports.
Previously, the brand was represented in the country mainly at department store counters. Its first temporary point of sale opened at The Hyundai Seoul. The new establishment is located in the same building as Centre Pompidou Hanwha.
The café features a circular display counter, seating for visitors and an area with gift products. The interior uses brass elements, walnut-toned wood and travertine.

Among the key products is the Ispahan macaron with rose, lychee and raspberry. Pierre Hermé developed this combination while working at Ladurée. The menu also includes the Venus macaron with rose and quince, as well as the Eclair Infiniment Vanille éclair with a mascarpone and Madagascar vanilla filling.
Macarons and cakes are delivered to Seoul from Paris. Other desserts are made in South Korea, and Pierre Hermé, according to the establishment, remotely checks them daily before they are placed in the display case.
The café also offers soft serve ice cream exclusive to this flagship. The selection includes Infiniment Vanille, Infiniment Chocolat and Ultime flavors, created according to recipes from the brand’s Paris establishments. Pierre Hermé Paris’s Korean division is managed by Hotel IPark.
