Kynev's activities
Alexander Kynev previously taught political science at the Higher School of Economics and has worked as a political consultant since the 1990s. Early in his career, he worked on campaigns for the liberal Yabloko party.
Kynev also cooperated with independent political organizations, including the now-liquidated Golos election observers' movement. In February, Russia's Ministry of Justice designated him a “foreign agent.” Kynev publicly criticized the Russian authorities and remained in Moscow despite increased political repression following the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
