Karachi police still have no leads in Mir Raza Ali murder case
Police in Karachi, Pakistan, told a court that they have still found no leads in the murder case of Mir Raza Ali and did not name any person in the accused column. Investigators requested additional time to submit the final charge sheet, as they are still awaiting forensic examination results.
As Dawn reports, DSP Siraj-ud-Din Lashari submitted an interim charge sheet to the judicial magistrate of the East District. He noted that digital evidence, including an Apple Watch, the deceased's mobile phone and CCTV footage, had been sent to Lahore for examination.
63 witnesses in the interim report
In the seven-page interim report, the investigator listed 63 witnesses but wrote “nobody” in the accused column. In his conclusions, he stated that police had checked all possible versions but had not made a breakthrough in the investigation.

The new investigation team interviewed the parents, friends, fiancée and investors of Mir Raza Ali. Investigators also spoke with the gardener who informed police about the discovery of the body and with online taxi drivers. His father filed a police report after the man's disappearance.
Testimony about his last movements
Security guard Muhammad Yusuf, who was on duty near the crime scene, told police that he heard a gunshot around midnight between July 27 and 28. According to him, he went out to check but saw neither people nor cars in the area.
The deceased's fiancée told investigators that she contacted his business partner Ahmed Bhardaya after learning that Mir Raza Ali's social media accounts had been deleted or deactivated and being unable to reach him. CCTV footage, according to the report, shows him getting into a white car. In the early hours of July 28, he used an online taxi, got out on Manzoor Street in the Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, and later walked alone and threw away his mobile phone.
