Renowned American actress Louise Lasser has died

Renowned American actress Louise Lasser, who was also the ex-wife of director Woody Allen, has died at the age of 88. Her family announced her death. She was 87 at the time of her death.

Louise was born in Manhattan. She studied political science in college, but at the same time appeared in shows and took acting classes. Lasser later became a comedy actress and began her career in Woody Allen’s films. Louise’s most famous film roles include *Take the Money and Run*, *Bananas*, *Memories of Stardust*, *Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman*, and many others.

She became the first actress to receive a Clio Award—the highest honor in the advertising industry. In 1962, Lasser served as Barbra Streisand’s understudy in the Broadway musical *I Can Get It for You Wholesale*. Incidentally, the actress later married Woody Allen, with whom she was married for three years.

The sad news was reported by the star’s friend, Susan Charlotte. She told *The New York Times* that the actress died on Monday, July 6, at her home in New York. The cause of death is not yet known.
