US President reportedly plans to arm Iranian groups to influence Middle East dynamics
According to the Wall Street Journal, US President Donald Trump is preparing to supply weapons to various groups inside Iran, including Quds Force-affiliated factions. This strategy echoes the Obama administration’s approach when the CIA and Pentagon supported different militias in Syria.
Trump and his administration deliberately avoid using the term "war" to describe the conflict in the Middle East, aiming to sidestep Congressional scrutiny. Instead, the White House employs phrases such as "decisive measures" or "military campaign." Under the US Constitution, only Congress has the authority to declare war.
This approach allows Trump to conduct foreign policy maneuvers without formal war declarations, which could significantly impact regional stability and the future relations between the United States, Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries.
