UAE and Syrian presidents discuss cooperation in Abu Dhabi
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa met in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on September 16 and discussed strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing the UAE state news agency WAM.
Economy and development
During the talks, the presidents focused primarily on cooperation in the economic and development spheres. According to WAM, the parties discussed brotherly relations, various areas of cooperation, and opportunities to strengthen them in the interests of both states and their peoples.
The heads of state also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues. Events in the Middle East and their impact on regional security and stability were a separate topic.

Syrian president's visit
The parties stressed the importance of strengthening the foundations of regional and international security and stability. Earlier the same day, Ahmad al-Sharaa delivered a keynote speech at the 24th Arab Media Summit at the Dubai World Trade Centre. His session was titled “Syria of the Future.”
After the visit concluded, the Syrian president left the UAE, WAM reported. At the airport, he was seen off by UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other officials.
