Russian satellites may have aided Iran during the attack on a U.S. base — CNN
Russian satellite intelligence may have helped Iran obtain more accurate data on U.S. military facilities in Saudi Arabia. Two days before Iran’s large-scale attack, 14 Russian reconnaissance satellites flew over the U.S. Prince Sultan base.
According to CNN, the satellites passed over the military facility in a specific sequence and at the right time. This potentially allowed for the collection of a wide range of intelligence on the location of U.S. forces and equipment.
U.S. officials and international intelligence sources interviewed by journalists suggested that the data obtained in this way could have been useful to Iran in preparing for the attack. In particular, satellite imagery could have helped pinpoint the locations of military equipment and other key targets.
At the same time, CNN does not claim that Moscow directly provided Tehran with intelligence specifically for this strike. The report focuses solely on the possible role of Russian satellite intelligence in Iran’s preparations for the attack.

In Baku, Azerbaijan, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on the U.S. and Iran to immediately cease mutual attacks in the Gulf region. According to him, these strikes undermine efforts to achieve peace in the conflict between the U.S. and Iran.
