Estonian prosecution expands investigation into director Oliver Reimann
The Estonian Prosecutor's Office has expanded its criminal investigation into theater director Oliver Reimann. The new suspicions concern the possible intentional intoxication of another person and illegal handling of narcotic substances, ERR News reports, citing Eesti Ekspress.
Suspicions in the case
Prosecutor Liset Rohi told Eesti Ekspress that Reimann may have illegally handled narcotic substances with the intention of transferring them to other people. According to her, he is also suspected of intentionally intoxicating a person, which may have endangered that person's health and well-being.
Rohi noted that adding a narcotic or psychotropic substance to a drink without a person's knowledge may contain elements of several criminal offenses. She added that intoxication is often linked to sexual crimes or property offenses when it is used to commit or attempt to commit another crime.

Public statement and dismissal
The case was opened the same day following publications by Eesti Ekspress and a social media post by Reimann. In it, he wrote that he had mixed MDMA, also known as ecstasy, into the drinks of at least two acquaintances.
At the time of the described incidents, Reimann was a student at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Until recently, he worked as a director at the Estonian Drama Theatre, which dismissed him last week after this information became public.
The theater's creative director, Hendrik Toompere Jr., said further cooperation had become impossible because of the situation's impact on the team and the loss of trust between the actors and the director. Mart Koldits, head of the academy's drama school, called it the first such case at the institution and announced a zero-tolerance policy toward drugs.
