The German Prosecutor's Office has confirmed the arrest of Russian spies
On March 24, 2026, the German Federal Prosecutor’s Office announced the arrest of Romanian citizen Alla S. in the city of Rhineland and Ukrainian citizen Serhiy N. in Alicante, Spain.
According to the investigation, both suspects were acting on behalf of Russian intelligence, gathering information about an individual in Germany who supplies drones and components for Ukraine’s needs. The arrests were carried out with the participation of special police units and based on European arrest warrants.
According to the case file, Sergei N. had been surveilling the target and filming their workplace since December 2025, and after his departure to Spain, Alla S. took over these duties. The prosecutor’s office believes that the collection of data and the tracking of the target’s movements were preparations for further covert operations against the supplier. The issue of remanding the detainees into custody is currently being decided, and Sergey N. is being prepared for extradition from Spain to Germany for further investigative proceedings.
Earlier, media reported that law enforcement agencies in Germany and Spain had detained two individuals suspected of gathering information about a German drone manufacturer to prepare an attack or sabotage.
In Poland, a citizen from the border town of Hrubieszów was found guilty of collaborating with Russian intelligence and sentenced to 3.5 years in prison.
Recently, the German Foreign Ministry decided to expel the deputy military attaché of the Russian Embassy in Berlin on suspicion of espionage.
