Putin has established a commission to impose restrictions on Russians living abroad
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing a special interagency commission that will address the issue of imposing restrictive measures against Russians who have left the country and are evading punishment.
The document was published on the Russian Federation’s official legal information portal.
The commission will be headed by Russian Minister of Justice Konstantin Chuychenko. It will include representatives from law enforcement and financial agencies.
The commission’s main task will be to consider issues related to the provision of monthly humanitarian aid to close relatives of those who have fled the country, if they have no income of their own.
At the same time, a previously adopted package of laws provides for 14 types of restrictions on citizens who evade punishment. These include a ban on registering a business, the freezing of bank accounts, and the suspension of the registration of real estate rights.
