Putin stated his readiness to respond promptly and appropriately to threats from the West

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin stated that Moscow is prepared to respond swiftly and “appropriately” to any threats from the West, as well as to take action in the event of an escalation of security risks.

According to Putin, Western countries are allegedly speaking openly about preparing for war with Russia and increasing their military budgets.

He claims that such steps pose a threat to Russia and force it to respond.

“We are ready to respond promptly and appropriately to any external or internal threats, the Russian leader stated.

Putin also noted that, in his view, Western countries first create threats and then “force Russia to take the actions necessary for self-defense and protection.”

Earlier, some Russian officials and State Duma deputies had spoken of the need to prepare for a potential confrontation with NATO and the EU by 2030. Among the proposals was the reintroduction of basic military training in schools.

He made these remarks during a meeting with graduates of higher military educational institutions.

Earlier, European Council President António Costa stated that all G7 countries and EU member states remain united in their support for Ukraine.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the member countries of the anti-ballistic coalition must demonstrate tangible results of their joint efforts by the beginning of winter.

Ukraine may also receive 62 F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets. This refers to the potential transfer to Ukraine of F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets in the C (55 aircraft) and D (7 aircraft) variants, which are currently in service with the Finnish Air Force and are gradually being phased out. Experts are assessing the likelihood of such a transfer and its impact on strengthening Ukraine’s air force.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine would allocate part of the 90 billion euro financial aid package from the European Union to defense needs, specifically for the purchase of Gripen fighter jets from Sweden. According to the head of state, the funding will help strengthen Ukraine’s defense and modernize its air power capabilities.
