Board of Peace outlines Gaza goals ahead of UN General Assembly — Anadolu Agency

The Board of Peace, chaired by US President Donald Trump, has reiterated its key objectives for Gaza ahead of the UN General Assembly in New York, United States, and called on international partners to support the roadmap for ending the conflict.

As Anadolu Agency reports, in a statement on social media platform X, the Board of Peace named the demilitarization and deradicalization of Gaza, uninterrupted humanitarian aid and reconstruction, effective Palestinian civilian and security governance, and lasting security for Palestinians and Israelis as shared objectives.

The Board said its plan had created conditions for the release and return of all Israeli hostages, the holding of the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2803, and the establishment of the Board of Peace itself.

Next stages of the ceasefire

According to the Board, the agreement with Hamas reached on July 30 defines the next stages of the ceasefire: demilitarization, the withdrawal of Israeli forces, Palestinian governance, and reconstruction. The Board called on all parties to fulfill their commitments and avoid actions that could undermine the ceasefire.

The statement also called on international partners to turn political support into practical commitments. It emphasized that the UN General Assembly is an opportunity to unite the international community around a common framework for achieving lasting peace and security in Gaza.

According to the agency, since October 8, 2023, Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians in Gaza, while more than 174,000 others have been injured. About 90% of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed.
