Russian President Vladimir Putin’s approval rating continues to decline. According to the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), the rating fell by 1.9 percentage points compared to the previous week.
This is reported by Russian media.
A poll published on May 29 shows that 67.5% of respondents approve of Putin’s performance as president. Since late March, VTsIOM has recorded a gradual decline in this figure.
In early May, the center changed its research methodology, adding in-person home interviews to telephone interviews. Following this, a brief rise in the approval rating to 66.8% was reported in mid-May.
The Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) had previously noted a similar trend, but on May 29, it reported an increase in trust in Putin—from 71% to 73%—as well as changes in approval ratings for his performance.
