Romania is cutting the tax on diesel amid rising fuel prices

The Romanian government has approved a reduction in the excise tax on diesel fuel amid rising energy prices.

This was reported by Digi24.

Under the decision, the excise tax will be reduced by 0.3 lei per liter to mitigate the impact of high prices on the economy and inflation.

At the same time, the government has introduced a “solidarity tax” for oil and gas companies, which could reach up to 60% of their revenues.

Both decisions will take effect on April 7.

As a reminder, diesel futures in Europe have exceeded $200 due to the consequences of the war in Iran.

We also reported that diesel prices in Germany reached a historic high amid the war with Iran.
