Sandu Begins Consultations on the Appointment of Moldova's New Prime Minister
Moldovan President Maia Sandu will hold consultations with parliamentary factions to determine a candidate for the position of prime minister. The talks will take place nearly a week after the resignation of Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
The meetings will take place on July 10 and 11 at the Presidential Administration building.
On Friday, July 10, Maia Sandu will meet with opposition parliamentary factions.
On Saturday, July 11, the president will hold consultations with the ruling PAS party. The meeting with the majority parliamentary faction will begin at 10:00 a.m.
“The consultations are being held in accordance with the provisions of the Moldovan Constitution and are aimed at nominating a candidate for the position of prime minister with the goal of forming a new government,” the Moldovan president’s office said, according to NewsMaker.
