Serbia will consume natural gas from Gazprom for another three months

Serbia has reached an agreement with the Russian company Gazprom to extend natural gas supplies for another three months—until the end of September. This refers to additional volumes of natural gas that the country will receive under existing agreements. The decision allows Belgrade to temporarily maintain stable energy supply conditions.

The extension of supplies for another three months after June 30 was confirmed, as reported by the Tanjug news agency, citing Energy Minister Dubravka Jedović-Kandanović following her meeting with Gazprom Board Chairman Alexey Miller in St. Petersburg.

"This is important for our country, for our citizens, and for our economy, because these are stable supplies that are extremely affordable, as well as due to the flexibility and volumes they provide," Handanović is quoted as saying.

In March, Serbia secured a three-month extension of its gas contract with Russia.

Cheaper imports of Russian gas cover up to 90% of Serbia’s needs, although Belgrade is seeking to diversify its supply with gas from Azerbaijan and liquefied natural gas from terminals in Greece.

Serbia’s energy minister made this statement on Thursday evening, Reuters reports.

Gazprom is selling its satellite manufacturing company.

Gazprom-Media has invested hundreds of millions in a platform to search for “undesirable” content in videos.

As a reminder, in 2025, mobile internet was cut off more than 11,000 times in Russia.

Additionally, sanctions, the loss of foreign markets, and the deterioration of the global economic situation have exposed the structural weakness of Russia’s regional budgets.
