AI estimated Putin's actual height, taking into account photo adjustments and footwear

The actual height of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has been the subject of debate and speculation in the media and on social media for many years.

Some observers believe that artificial uncertainty has been created around this topic, and that the politician’s visual appearance in photos often varies due to camera angles, staging, and shoes with extra soles or hidden inserts.

Officially, Putin’s height is usually estimated at approximately 170 cm, but various sources cast doubt on this figure and often consider it to be an overestimate.

On social media, people have repeatedly pointed out that the Russian leader appears to be of varying heights in different photos, which only fuels interest in the topic.

Journalists turned to AI for an alternative assessment, analyzing a photo in which Putin is pictured alongside the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, whose height, according to various sources, is about 182–183 cm.

According to the model’s assessment, the top of Putin’s head in the photo is roughly at the level of Lukashenko’s eyes, resulting in a difference of about 10–12 cm.

The AI also notes that the accuracy of such a measurement based on a photo can be distorted by a number of factors:

  • perspective and camera angle (Putin may have been standing closer to the camera);
  • wide-angle lens effects;
  • shoes with heels or hidden platforms, which can add up to 5–7 cm to a person’s height.

After accounting for these adjustments, the model concluded that Putin’s actual height is likely approximately 165–168 cm.

Taking into account all the parameters that could be considered through photo analysis, the artificial intelligence estimated Putin’s height to be in the range of 165–168 cm, while his “apparent” height in the photos may be higher due to technical and visual factors.

This was reported by Telegraf.”

As a reminder, the proposal for a face-to-face meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin remains on the table, and all realistic options for ending the war have “long been on the table” in Moscow, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated on June 20, emphasizing his readiness for negotiations to end Russian aggression.

Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated that the most effective way to force Russia to end the war against Ukraine is to deprive the Kremlin of the resources needed to continue its aggression.
