Shooting at a School in Thailand: Nine Dead
A shooting occurred at Debsirin Nonthaburi School on the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand. A total of nine people were killed, and another 23 were injured, NDTV World reports, citing Reuters.
According to police, the suspected attacker was a 14-year-old student at the school. Law enforcement officials stated that before the attack on the school, he shot and killed his grandparents at home at dawn, after which he took a bus to the school, located about 18 kilometers from their home. The shooting at the school began shortly before 10:00 a.m.
According to Reuters, over the course of about 40 minutes, the suspected attacker killed three teachers and two school staff members before turning the gun on himself. Police reported that he fired at least 26 rounds, and another 34 rounds were found on his person.

A 14-year-old student named Khim told Reuters that at first, she and her classmates assumed the sound of a gunshot was coming from a construction site. After more shots were fired, the teacher led the students into the classroom, checked messages in the group chat, and confirmed that an armed person was inside the building.
The students moved their desks to block the door, turned off the lights, and gathered near the windows. Khim asked her mother not to call her, as the ringtone could give away their location. The class was later evacuated as police secured part of the school premises.
Khim’s mother, 52-year-old nurse Kwan, asked her eldest daughter to count the gunshots during their conversation. She estimated that the gun might have between 15 and 20 rounds. The connection with her daughter was briefly lost, but a few minutes later, the girl called her mother and reported that she was unharmed.
