Students in the UAE will receive free access to Google Gemini
University students in the United Arab Emirates who are 18 years of age or older will be able to use Google’s advanced AI-powered tools for free for one year. The program was launched by the UAE Artificial Intelligence Authority in partnership with Google Gemini.
To participate, students must be enrolled at a university in the UAE and sign up by December 31, 2026. As part of the program, students will receive a 12-month Google AI Plus plan.
This plan includes access to Gemini with the latest AI model, as well as tools for learning and conducting research. Specifically, students will be able to work with sources, organize information, summarize large volumes of course materials, and prepare research papers.
The subscription also includes tools for creating images and videos using AI, Gemini Notebook for working with course materials and sources, and 400 GB of cloud storage. Gemini Notebook allows users to create short summaries of documents and use an interactive audio format.
In addition to the free subscription, online and in-person training sessions will be organized for students. During these sessions, participants will learn how to use Gemini and Gemini Notebook in their studies and research, as well as how to apply artificial intelligence technologies responsibly.
UAE authorities note that the program’s goal is not merely to expand young people’s access to modern technologies. The aim is to teach students to understand the capabilities of AI and use them effectively in their studies, research, and future careers.
