Taiwan will conduct exercises to repel a possible invasion by China

From June 22 to 26, the Taiwanese Armed Forces will conduct large-scale combat readiness exercises, during which they will practice responses to a potential invasion by China.

Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense reported that the exercises will involve active-duty units and actual military equipment, and will simulate scenarios for a rapid transition from peacetime to wartime.

The main objectives of the exercises are to enhance the troops’ combat readiness, improve the management of joint operations, logistics support, and battlefield preparation.

The day before, Taiwan also reported Chinese air activity near the island. According to the Ministry of Defense, 21 Chinese military aircraft were detected, including J-16 fighters, KJ-500 long-range early warning aircraft, and Y-20 refueling aircraft.
