A toxic cloud from the fire in Tuapse reached Anapa

Smoke from the oil terminal in Tuapse, which caught fire following a drone attack, has spread along Russia’s Black Sea coast over the past four days and, according to reports, has reached Anapa. Earlier, smoke was detected in Sochi, as well as inland in the Stavropol and Armavir regions.

This is reported by Russian media.

On social media, residents of Anapa are posting photos of a dark haze over the city. Environmentalists note that the polluted air continues to move along the coast.

In Tuapse, there are reports of oily stains on the streets and black precipitation. Local residents describe the situation as extremely critical and report that animals have been contaminated with fuel oil. There are also reports of a large oil slick approaching the coast.

Experts warn that the fallout may contain toxic components of petroleum products and pose a health risk, including causing irritation and respiratory problems.

Environmentalists believe the incident could escalate into one of the largest environmental disasters in the region due to significant contamination of the Black Sea basin’s coastline and rivers.
