Trump announced the continuation of the military campaign against Iran, according to CNN
U.S. President Donald Trump has made it clear that he has no intention of halting his actions against Iran, despite the fragile ceasefire.
Trump wrote about this on Truth Social, according to CNN.
While visiting Beijing, Trump posted a message commenting on Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s remarks about the U.S. as a “declining power.”
According to Trump, Xi was allegedly referring to the consequences of Joe Biden’s presidency:
“open borders, high taxes, rampant crime, and terrible trade deals,” Trump argued.
At the same time, he highlighted his administration’s economic achievements, including record-breaking stock markets, a strong labor market, and massive foreign investment.
Trump’s statement on Iran drew the most attention. Commenting on the “military destruction” of the country, he added: “There’s more to come.”
The media interpreted this phrase as a signal of a possible continuation of hostilities, despite the declared ceasefire.
According to CNN, the issue of arms supplies was also discussed at the meeting in Beijing. Trump stated that Xi Jinping had allegedly promised not to supply military equipment to Tehran.
At the same time, the U.S. side acknowledges that the ceasefire remains extremely fragile, and Washington’s key demand—Iran’s renunciation of nuclear weapons—has yet to be met.
The issue of Taiwan was also raised separately at the summit. Xi Jinping called it “the most important issue in U.S.-China relations” and warned that wrong moves could create an “extremely dangerous situation.”
He also called for maintaining the stability of bilateral relations, which he described as “the most important in the world.”
U.S. Central Command stated that Iran has been significantly weakened following the conflict with the United States and is no longer capable of operating with its former military might. Officials in Washington assert that strikes on Tehran’s infrastructure and allies will have long-term consequences.
The Strait of Hormuz has once again come to a near standstill
The U.S. military also struck the vessel Touska, which was attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz under the Iranian flag despite the blockade.
Recall that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu does not consider the war with Iran to be over.
Official Tehran refused to participate in the second round of peace talks with the United States, which were to take place in Islamabad.
Iran rejected Trump’s claims regarding the transfer of uranium to the U.S. and accused him of manipulation.
