Trump suggests possible link between flydubai co-pilot and IRGC — Jerusalem Post

US President Donald Trump said in Washington that he does not rule out a possible link between the Omani co-pilot of airline flydubai and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). He told reporters this on the White House South Lawn, The Jerusalem Post reports.

Possible link to the IRGC

Asked whether he had received information about a possible link between the co-pilot and the IRGC, Trump replied that, according to his information, such a scenario was possible, but it was still being verified. The journalist also asked whether this person could have been planted by the IRGC or radicalized in another way and then attempted to crash the aircraft. The US president replied that this was possible.

Israeli side’s version

At the same time, an unnamed Israeli official told the publication that the working theory had not changed. According to him, the co-pilot acted independently, rather than on behalf of another party. The official added that the investigation was ongoing.

Trump also said that Iran’s proxies, including Hezbollah, could disappear along with Iran. He said he had to make a decision: whether an agreement would be reached or Iran would cease to exist.
