Trump accepted Macron's invitation to dinner at Versailles following the G7 summit — Politico

U.S. President Donald Trump has agreed to attend a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron, which will take place at the Palace of Versailles following the conclusion of the G7 summit.

According to sources in the U.S. administration, the dinner is scheduled for June 17 and will be part of Trump’s visit to France. Prior to that, he will attend the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains, where he will hold a series of bilateral meetings and working sessions with leaders of allied nations.

Macron had previously invited Trump to a private one-on-one dinner after the summit, but the White House had long failed to confirm the U.S. president’s attendance. Now, both sources in the U.S. administration and the Élysée Palace have confirmed Washington’s agreement.

According to media reports, the invitation may have been part of Macron’s diplomatic efforts to strengthen relations with Trump and keep him at the summit until the conclusion of all events.
