Trump refused to wear a bulletproof vest for fear of looking fat
U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he does not want to wear a bulletproof vest, despite numerous assassination attempts against him, because he is concerned about how it would affect his appearance.
This was reported by AFP.
“I don’t know if I can handle it if I look 20 pounds (about 9 kg) heavier,” he told reporters when asked about the possible use of a bulletproof vest.
According to reports in the American media, the issue of strengthening the president’s personal security was discussed following what is believed to be the latest assassination attempt on Trump during a gala dinner in Washington last week.
“I’ve been asked about it. I think it’s something to think about. On the one hand, I don’t want to do it because it means giving in to the influence of bad elements. So, I don’t know. But I’ve been asked about it,” he added.
Trump is known for paying close attention to his appearance. At the same time, his weight has repeatedly been a topic of discussion, although, according to medical exams, he has lost a little weight during his second term.
According to the latest data, during a medical examination in April 2025, his weight was 101.6 kg, while in 2019 it was 110.2 kg.
As a reminder, a new political scandal recently erupted in the U.S. surrounding former FBI Director James Comey over a photo featuring the numbers “86 47.” Donald Trump claimed this was a veiled call for his assassination. The situation has already become the subject of a federal investigation and sparked controversy even among politicians,
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer should learn from King Charles III’s approach to achieve better results.
