U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he had allegedly received an offer from Iran to lead the country as its supreme leader, but turned it down.

Trump emphasized that he is not interested in such a role and commented ironically on the possibility of leading Iran.
“We hear them very clearly. They say, ‘We would like to make you the next Supreme Leader.’ No, thank you. I don’t want that,” he said.
The U.S. president also added that “there has never been a head of state who wanted this position less” than he does.
The statement came amid tense relations between Washington and Tehran and discussions of a possible escalation of the situation in the Middle East.
