IDF says Hamas commander killed in Gaza — Jerusalem Post
In Israel, in the Khan Younis area of the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces said it had killed Hamas commander Muhammad Suleiman Bayouk. According to the Israeli military, he entered Israeli territory during the October 7 attack.

As the Jerusalem Post reports, the IDF confirmed Bayouk's death on Saturday, although the strike, according to the military, took place on Thursday. The Israeli army said that for a significant part of the war, he had been planting explosive devices in Gaza targeting Israeli military personnel.
According to the IDF, Bayouk also planned attacks on Israeli military personnel and civilians and took part in rebuilding Hamas structures. The military described these actions as a systematic violation of the ceasefire regime.

Other operations in Gaza
Earlier, the IDF and Israel's Shin Bet security service reported a joint operation in southern Gaza on Tuesday. According to the Israeli military, Hamas Rafah Brigade commander Nael Abu Obeid was killed in the strike.
The IDF said that Abu Obeid had previously been deputy commander of the Rafah Brigade and commanded the Tel al-Sultan and Yabna battalions. According to the military, he replaced Muhammad Shabana, whom the IDF said it killed in May 2025.
The Israeli army also said it had killed Hamas Jabalia Battalion commander Ahmad Battash in a strike in northern Gaza on Monday. According to the IDF, Battash was responsible for the logistics of the Northern Brigade of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and for supplying weapons and equipment to Hamas members in the region.
