IDF denies attempts to abduct soldiers near Yellow Line — Jerusalem Post
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) denied reports of three alleged attempts to abduct Israeli soldiers near the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip. The military also rejected claims that its units had retreated after these incidents and unsuccessful counterattacks.
What the IDF said
According to the Jerusalem Post, JNS was the first outlet to report information about the possible abduction attempts. It claimed that all three attempts had been repelled by Israeli forces.
The IDF said there had been no attempts to abduct Israeli soldiers, and reports of a retreat and unsuccessful counterattacks were also untrue. The military added that it had transparently reported details of the actual incidents in the area.

In particular, the army said it had publicly reported all cases in which engineering equipment was damaged by explosive devices. The IDF also reported an incident involving sounds of gunfire in early September. According to the army, strikes were carried out in response to each of these incidents.
Defense minister's statement
The JNS report appeared several hours after a statement by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz. He threatened to destroy what remains of Gaza City and force approximately one million of its residents to leave the city if Hamas takes even one Israeli hostage.
The head and founder of the People of Israel organization, reserve Brigadier General Ofer Winter, called on Katz to stop making empty threats. He said Hamas would not take the threat seriously.
