Turkey plans buffer zones and tent city for 90,000 Iranian refugees at the border

Turkey, as the main destination country for refugees fleeing Iran, has expressed concern over the growing influx of migrants. The Turkish Interior Minister announced plans to establish buffer zones and a tent city capable of housing 90,000 refugees at the border. This marks an important development amidst escalating migration pressures in the region.

Reports indicate that Iranians may continue their journey toward Europe, where movements from cities to rural areas and coastal regions have already been observed. Previously, Israeli organizations such as Mosaic United, supported by the Jewish Agency and the Israeli government, financed and facilitated the evacuation of refugees from Syria, Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan to Northern and Western Europe, mainly through Greece. According to UN data, over 5.6 million people have fled Syria since the war began, including 2.6 million children, with Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon hosting the majority.

This situation underscores the growing humanitarian crisis in the region and may necessitate increased international cooperation to provide support and security for displaced populations.
