Turkish F-16s will patrol the skies over the Baltic states around the clock
Turkey will once again deploy F-16 fighter jets to Estonia to participate in the NATO mission to patrol the airspace of the Baltic states.
From August through November, five aircraft and 76 military personnel will be on round-the-clock combat duty.
The fighter jets will be based at Amari Air Base and will operate in Quick Reaction Alert (QRA) mode to respond promptly to any potential airspace violations over Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
The Turkish Air Force noted that the mission is part of NATO’s air defense system and also includes joint training exercises with other Alliance countries.
