The remains of Ukrainian soldiers who died in 1941 have been found in Belarus
In the Dobrusk District of Belarus, search teams discovered the remains of Ukrainian servicemen who died during combat operations in 1941. The identities of two of the fallen were confirmed—they were from the Chernihiv and Poltava regions. The third soldier was previously considered missing in action.
What is known
A German aerial photograph proved instrumental. This photo was overlaid on a modern satellite image to identify the locations of craters caused by aerial bombs and artillery shells. It was with their help that the discoveries were made.
Initially, the search team came across spent shell casings and pieces of military equipment. At a depth of 50–60 centimeters, they discovered the remains of a soldier, alongside which they found the case for a dog tag.
Later, they found the remains of other soldiers, as well as another dog tag.
All the finds were handed over to the 52nd Separate Specialized Search Battalion. So far, they have managed to identify two soldiers.
The first is Kostiantyn Tymofiiovych Rodzanovskyi, born in 1921, a resident of the city of Korop in Chernihiv Oblast, who lived at 33 Berehova Street.
The second soldier is Mykola Ivanovych Kishkar, born in 1921, a native of the village of Velyka Pavlivka in Poltava Oblast. He is listed as missing in action in the casualty records.
Researcher Oleksandr Snitko published photographs of the documents belonging to the fallen soldiers whose identities have been established.

At the Ukrainian-Moldovan border, customs officers discovered ten men hiding in the cargo compartment of a truck. According to the documents, the vehicle was transporting paper cups and lids, but during the inspection, law enforcement officers also found people inside.
